PEJENEThe Youth Foundation has about 40 vacancies for PEJENE internships, in more than 20 training areas, in the district of Faro. Applications run until the end of the current month and internships take place between July and September.

Young people attending the penultimate and final year of any higher education course can now apply for the 24th Internship Program for Young Students of Higher Education in Companies (PEJENE), promoted by the Youth Foundation. Click here to find out which positions are available.

In the Algarve, placements for internships range from psychology to oenology or theatre.

With about 60% of vacancies filled nationally, internship opportunities are still available in more than 100 areas of training, ranging from health, to technologies, through education, training, environment, management or specific areas such as anthropology or archeology.
The number of vacancies, whose growth is 36% compared to 2015, covers the entire national territory, offering each student the possibility to apply for up to 4 internship vacancies, according to their preferences.

The internships presuppose the attribution of a food and transport subsidy, as well as a personal accident insurance.

According to Ricardo Carvalho, executive president of the Youth Foundation, «in the last edition of the PEJENE program, the employability rate, verified after the internship, was 15%. These results are quite significant, taking into account the current situation, in which there is great difficulty in employing young graduates».

PEJENE is part of one of the Youth Foundation's strategic action vectors – Employment and Entrepreneurship – and constitutes an important factor of curriculum enrichment as well as the acquisition of experience and knowledge in the work context.

This program has been responding, since 1993, to the needs of young people who are completing higher education, allowing them to perform professional tasks, and to increase their knowledge in a real work environment.
