One of the highlights of the program will be the 17th Mast Contest, to which various local associations will join. But the party is also made with food and music, which can be found in the arraial de São João, scheduled for the 23rd of June, in the 1º de Maio square, and in the different dances that will be promoted, starting today, Thursday , and until July 2nd.

In the fair, where sardines, bonfires and balloons associated with the São João festival will not be lacking, the best traditional masts, marches and courts allusive to the Popular Saints created by the different associations will be known. The evaluation criteria are traditional aspects, originality and imagination in the blocks alluding to the Santos Populares.

The XVII Masts Contest is organized by the Castro Marim City Council and has the collaboration of: Cultural Association “Amendoeiras em Flor”, Recreational and Cultural Association of the Friends of Alta Mora, Social Association of the Parish of Odeleite, Campesino Recreativo Futebol Clube , Casa do Povo do Azinhal, Azinhal Recreational and Cultural Association, Junqueira Club, Rio Seco Sports and Cultural Group, “Mito Algarvio” – Association of Accordion Players of the Algarve and Popular and Recreational Society / Castromarinense Musical Band.
