On the 17th of April, Vilamoura hosts the 5th Solidarity Tour of the Existir Association – Vilamoura Bike Day. The event has a solidarity nature and aims to raise funds to support people with disabilities and families in economic and social need in the Algarve region .
Loulé Council explains that, «for those who want to cycle for this cause and be supportive, the concentration of participants will be in the car park, next to the Lake Resort, in Vilamoura».
Participants can opt for two routes, being advised to children over 12 years old, with different degrees of difficulty: 20 km – Family mountain bike of low difficulty – and 60 km – Cycle tourism of medium difficulty.
Participation in this event costs €7 per person, but in groups of 4 people or more, the registration fee will be €5 per person.
The funds raised with this initiative will revert, in full, to Associação Existir, a non-profit social solidarity institution, which has been playing an important role in improving the quality of life of people with disabilities and families with economic and in the local community.

Luis Martins, director of Existir says that it is «very gratifying to know that our work is recognized by the surrounding community, distinguished figures linked to Cycling and also by Anjos, Nelson and Sérgio Rosado, who showed themselves available to give their face to this initiative.
