who wants to be saramagoSophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library, in Loulé, will join the celebrations of World Book Day – April 23 – with three shows, inspired by Fernando Pessoa and José Saramago, aimed mainly at children and young people.

On Friday, the 22nd, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, and on Saturday, the 23rd, at 10:30 am, the Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen Municipal Library will host the show “Afinal o Caracol”, starring Cristina Paiva. On the 22nd, the session is aimed at children aged 3 to 5 in kindergartens, while
on Saturday, the show is aimed at children from 6 months to 3 years old.

In this show, «an actress and a book tell the story of a snail, the tickle it used to do, how it turned and turned, and how it ended up not falling».

Based on some poems by Fernando Pessoa, «a show that, in a simple way, highlights and shares the pleasure of reading with children», explains Câmara de Loulé.

Each session lasts approximately 25 minutes, and registration must be made through the email [email protected].

On April 22, at 21 pm, “Who wants to be Saramago?” is presented, with Rui Paulo, Cristina Paiva and Fernando Ladeira. This is, according to Câmara de Loulé, «a journey against cruelty, humiliation and lies, guided by the “Voice” and by the work of the only Nobel Prize in the Portuguese language, with a destination for a more dignified, fair and true world. This piece lasts for 30 minutes.
