accessible tourismThe Alentejo and Ribatejo Regional Tourism Authority launched this Wednesday, the 6th, a manual that presents the territory's accessibility conditions and which equipment is capable of receiving all types of tourists, regardless of the constraints.

The Tourist Destination Accessibility Technical Guide is part of the “Alentejo/Ribatejo 4All”, a project that aims to make the territory accessible to all tourists and visitors, explained the Regional Tourism Authority (ERT).

Digitally edited, hosted in www.visitalentejo.pt e www.visitribatejo.pt, the manual presents the “radiography” of the accessibility levels that exist in the 58 municipalities of Alentejo and Ribatejo.

It is a guide built “after a detailed survey and field test work”, covering more than 1.300 tourist facilities, including entertainment companies, restaurants, museums, beaches and accommodation units, he said.

With this manual, ERT explained, professionals from different public and private entities can “learn about the territory's accessibility conditions”.

And it also discloses which equipment is accessible, in other words, which ones have the “capacity to receive all types of tourists and visitors, regardless of the conditions”.

The “Alentejo/Ribatejo 4All” project, according to ERT, is “fundamental” in the qualification and certification strategy of these two destinations.

“It aims to promote tourism for all, add value to the offer and put into practice equal rights and opportunities for all visitors”, indicated Turismo do Alentejo e Ribatejo.
