The program «Isto é Matemática», promoted by the Portuguese Society of Mathematics (SPM), will return to the screen of SIC Notícias and SIC Internacional, with the support of the Vodafone Portugal Foundation, which will ensure the continuity of the programme.
The premiere of the new season is scheduled for this Saturday, January 9th, at 9:40.
Internationally awarded by the International Science Show on TV VerCiência2013, «Isto é Matemática» is a science dissemination program, with an excellent production, which presents topics of mathematics in a relaxed and fun way.
According to the Portuguese Society of Mathematics, the impact of the 1st edition of «Isto é Matemática» was «far beyond that obtained by television broadcasting, and it was even used in classrooms as teaching material, not only in Portugal, but also in Brazil and El Salvador».
His first series was even translated into English by European Mathematical Society, and made available on the portal mathematics-in-europe.eu
After the success of previous seasons, the program now reappears with new themes and many new features, and will continue to air on Saturdays, with a presentation by mathematician Rogério Martins.
