Urgent hearing of Secretary of State because of Quinta do Freixo unanimously approved

The request submitted by the parliamentary group of the Left Bloc, to hear the Secretary of State for Spatial Planning and Nature Conservation, as a matter of urgency, on the PIN project “Vale do Freixo Golf & Country Resort”, was unanimously approved . 

Secretary of State Célia Ramos will be questioned at the Committee on Environment, Spatial Planning, Decentralization, Local Government and Urbanism, regarding the project planned for the Algarve Barrocal, in the interior of the municipality of Loulé.

O The request for a hearing was made by the Left Block, through its deputy from the Algarve, João Vasconcelos.

According to the Blocist parliamentarian, «the construction of a mega real estate project in the municipality of Loulé, considered as a project of potential national interest (PIN), violates national and community legislation».

"It is essential to understand the status of the project and question the Government about future actions and intentions regarding this mega undertaking", justified João Vasconcelos, deputy of the Algarve Block.
A date has not yet been set for this hearing by the Secretary of State for Spatial Planning.
