The young people of the Algarve are now invited to participate in the creation of the 1st Regional Youth Action Plan, within the scope of the Algarve 2020 Project: A Youth Contract, which the ECOS Cooperative and its network of partners are promoting.
In this context, three Youth Consultations will take place during the next week, namely in Barlavento, Centro and Sotavento Algarvio.
The main objectives of these consultations are to make known to young people in the Algarve the creation of the 1st Regional Action Plan for Youth in the Algarve “Algarve 2020: A Young Contract”, to provide a space for motivation, reflection and debate with professionals, managers and decision-makers about the active participation of young people for the development of their municipalities and region, and finally inform them about international mobility opportunities in terms of employment, training and development of entrepreneurial skills.
The Consultation in Sotavento will take place at the Hotel Vila Galé, in Tavira, on the 17th of November, between 14:15 and 18:30, and will feature the participation of young people from the municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António.
The Consulta in Barlavento will take place at the Poeta António Aleixo Secondary School, in Portimão, between 14:15 and 18:00, on the 18th, involving young people from the municipalities of Aljezur, Lagoa, Lagos, Monchique, Portimão, Silves and Vila do Bispo.
Finally, the Consultation will take place at the Center, at the University of Algarve – Penha Campus Pedagogical Complex, between 14:15 and 18:30, on the 19th, involving young people from the municipalities of Albufeira, Faro, Loulé, Olhão and São Brás de Alportel.

The Algarve 2020: A Youth Contract is a pilot project that has been followed by the Secretary of State for Sport and Youth and is the result of an extensive process of youth consultations carried out in 2012/13, throughout the region, where it already around 864 young people participated, with around 400 more expected to participate during the Algarve 2020 Youth Consultations.
