John GalanteJoão Galante will present his most recent book of poetry entitled “O Última Grande Prócere”, on November 21, at 15:30 pm, at the Albufeira Municipal Library. The work portrays today's society, which the author considers marked by a "crisis of values and the ephemeral of power".

According to the Câmara de Albufeira, «“The Last Great Prócere” is the first of two books by João Galante, to be published soon». The work “is born from the desire to bring to light the poet's first phase, marked by hedonism and a certain existentialism, by the dreams and insecurities typical of youth”, describes the author.

“The Last Great Procere” «transports the reader to what is happening at each step in a society undermined by distrust and definitively fallen into disgrace».

João Galante, born in Luanda, is a pianist, singer and composer. According to the municipality of Albufeires, «he started writing his first poems in his adolescence and quickly ventured into the conception of his first songs. His poetic path goes hand in hand with his activity as a charismatic pedagogue and crooner, “adding hints of eroticism to words that complete each other in chords of lust and passion”».

The artist regularly writes on his blog “Vertigens da Alma” and on the poetry page he manages on Facebook, “Poesia de João Galante”.

The author participated in the poetry anthology “Between Sono eo Sonho – volume IV” – Chiado Editora, in March 2013 and in the compilation “ Janelas do Uni-Verso” – Editorial Minerva, in May 2013.
