Docapesca promotes Algarve mackerel and octopus burger at the Mediterranean Diet Fair

MackerelShowcookings of Mackerel, Octopus and Taínha de Mar from the Algarve auctions are Docapesca's contribution to the 3rd edition of the Mediterranean Diet Fair, which takes place in Tavira from 3 to 6 September.

So, today, the opening day, September 3, between 19pm and 21pm, two showcookings will be hosted by Chef Ricardo Bernardo, trainer of the Honorable Mentions winners in the Docapesca Competition “FishGourmet – Release the Chef Que Há Em Ti!”. The first hour will be occupied by a showcooking of Mackerel Burger and the second with another on “Octopus confit with lemon thyme and almond on sautéed greens in a sweet potato and pink pepper base”.

On Saturday, September 5, between 11:00 am and 12:40 pm, two showcookings will be organized by Chef José Domingos, from the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School. Thus, from 11 am to 11 am, a Mackerel showcooking will take place, within the scope of the “Cavala Algarvia” Project, in collaboration with CCMAR Algarve and EHT Algarve. From noon to 40:12 pm, the showcooking will be about Taínha de Mar, within the scope of the VALPROTAI Project, in collaboration with IPMA and EHT Algarve.

The Mediterranean Diet Fair aims to make known, value and publicize the products and activities of the Mediterranean Diet, as well as cultures related to the Mediterranean lifestyle.

Docapesca's participation in this event falls within the scope of the CCL project – Proof of Purchase in Auction, co-financed by the PROMAR program. The objective of CCL is to contribute to the qualitative and quantitative valuation of fish and, consequently, to the sustainability of resources, to increase the profitability of the Fisheries sector in Portugal and the remuneration of our fishermen.
