Seven kitchen teams, from renowned Algarve restaurants, will participate in a gastronomy contest, this Friday, one of the initiatives of the 1st Gastronomy Festival – Mediterranean Diet taking place today at the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School (EHTA)On Faro.
This will be a parallel event to the festival, which is not open to the public, and will be attended by the Deputy Minister and Regional Development Miguel Poiares Maduro and the Secretary of State for Food and Agrifood Research Nuno Vieira e Brito.
The general public is invited to be present, from 19 pm, at EHTA, «where innovative flavors will be tasted at the Espaço de Produtos Innovadores and the Espaço Inovação, as well as the gastronomic exhibition – Sentidos & Tradições promoted annually by students from the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School».
The Festival of Gastronomy – Mediterranean Diet is jointly promoted by the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission and the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School, as part of «a consistent strategy for the promotion and dissemination of Algarve regional cuisine, in the sense of of demonstration and use of an integrated line of this theme”, according to the CCDRA.
