Arrival of the Polis team to FaroApril l_27th 2015It will not be until today that the Polis Ria Formosa Society will take possession of houses in the Farol. A Polis team was this Monday, in the beginning of the afternoon, at the embarkation pier of this housing nucleus of Ilha da Culatra, but ended up “running” in an order of the Administrative and Fiscal Court of Loulé (TAFL), which notified the Police Maritime to prevent these administrative acts from advancing.

This decision, taken today, results from the process brought by the Chamber of Olhão. In the deliberation of the Court, the Sul Informação had access, TAFL considers that, despite the Polis Society having already presented a “reasoned” resolution, in the sense of “continuing with the ongoing activities”, there are still legal procedures that have not been complied with, relating to the injunction.

Thus, the Court decided to "notify the Maritime Police and the Maritime Authority", in order to "prevent the Respondent Entity [Respondent Company] from starting or continuing the execution of acts of administrative possession and demolition of existing buildings in Ilha do Farol Spring».

The decision was taken after an application presented today, around noon, by the lawyer of the Chamber of Olhão, in this process. In his presentation to the Court, António Cabrita warned that Sociedade Polis would be "mobilizing significant forces of the Maritime Police to provide them with cover in the execution of that inaugural act", despite the ongoing process of analyzing the injunction.

It also asked the court to instruct the authorities to "not give any cover to the act, on the contrary, preventing its execution, and detaining, in flagrante delicto, anyone who dares to perpetrate it." These arguments eventually prevailed in court.

The team of Polis technicians, led by the president of Sociedade Sebastião Teixeira, even arrived at the Farol, at a time when the Maritime Police was already there, in force, given the presence of hundreds of people, who wanted to prevent the administrative takeover of houses.

But, after having conferred with António Cabrita, he ended up turning back and returning to land. According to the lawyer, the Polis has "ten days to contest and 15 days to present a reasoned resolution", if it wants to reverse this decision.
