The initiative starts tomorrow, Tuesday, January 6, at 09:00 am, in Olhão, county that hosts the Quelfes Games, with a relay launching ceremony, at EB1 de Marim, a school with a strong connection to the origin of those games.

The event, a joint initiative of the municipalities of Faro, Loulé, Olhão, S. Brás de Alportel and Tavira, developed as part of the organization of the VI Quelfes Games, began in the municipality of Olhão.

Tavira will receive the testimony tomorrow and will carry out his council tour on the 12th, succeeding, respectively, S. Brás de Alportel (20th) and Faro (21st), ending on January 29th in Loulé, European City of Sport 2015.

At around 16 pm, the testimony will be handed over to the next municipality to continue the relay – Tavira – on the border between the two municipalities, in Maragota.

The relay will travel through the schools of the five municipalities, seeking to sensitize the school community to the importance of promoting Olympism as a philosophy of life, a transversal pedagogical tool and the need to instill a dynamic spirit in students through an inclusive and motivating sporting offer, presenting the Mediterranean Diet as a healthy diet and defending peace and participation in the Games.
