The Figuras Leisure Park will have 15 new trees, all of them autochthonous, starting next Saturday.
Ash, olive and fig trees will be planted in the green space next to Forum Algarve, in Faro, at 15 pm, in an action carried out within the scope of the national initiative “Florestar Portugal 2014”, to which the Algar company will contribute with the organic compound “Nutriverde”, which it produces from green waste.
The planting of these 15 trees is promoted by Glocal Faro and by the local nucleus of Quercus, an association that launched, with «Amo Portugal», the initiative at national level. This action also had the contribution of the landscape architecture firm Landscape Office, which prepared the project free of charge, and the Chamber of Faro, who joined the initiative. The project will be available on the day of the planting of trees for appreciation and suggestions from citizens.
As far as the waste management company in the Algarve is concerned, the contribution is very “green”, not only for the name of the compound, but also for its characteristics, since «Nutriverde» is a «certified product as a factor of production in organic farming that can be used as a fertilizer in agriculture and gardening, or as a substrate in the production of potted plants».
"This compost produced and marketed by ALGAR in its facilities, in addition to not being aggressive and polluting for nature, brings numerous benefits to the soil, as it combats erosion and improves its physical, chemical and biological properties," stated Algar, in a press release.
