A man was evacuated from a fishing boat off Olhão, after suffering burns in a work accident yesterday evening. The crew member of the vessel «Marcoral», a 45-year-old Portuguese, was transported to the Hospital de Faro and is in stable condition.
According to the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, the man suffered the accident when the vessel was sailing about seven kilometers south of the bar in the port of Faro/Olhão
Alerted to the situation, the center coordinated with INEM – Center for Guidance for Urgent Sea Patients (CODU-Mar) the rescue of the man, carried out by the lifeguard SR-37 of the lifeguard station in Olhão, «who rescued the injured crew member at 20:15, who was disembarked at Pier “T” in Olhão at 20:35”.
