PSP seizure leeward vandalismFour young people suspected of having committed various acts of vandalism in Sotavento, between Tavira and Vila Real de Santo António, were identified by the PSP, following an investigation by this police force. In the same operation, which took place this Thursday, a CO2 compressed air weapon was seized, cannabis plants and various items suspected of having been stolen.

After a «one and a half month» investigation, motivated by «acts of vandalism in vehicles that occurred at the beginning of June in the eastern Algarve, from Tavira to Vila Real de Santo António, and which caused damage to many people and alarm social", the PSP "complied with search warrants in two houses, located in Monte Gordo».

The PSP learned «a CO2 compressed air gun, 5 boxes with about 900 steel balls in caliber 4.5mm, two CO2 gas cylinders, a suitable target for the practice of sports shooting with dozens of embedded steel balls, 9 plants of Liamba (cannabis), several fortified wines and groceries suspected of coming from thefts that took place in Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, and also a velocipede, suspected to have been stolen from a rental company».

The young suspects are between 19 and 22 years old and reside in Vila Real de Santo António and Monte Gordo. The investigation was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Nucleus of the PSP District Command of Faro, with the support of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the PSP Police Station in Vila Real de Santo António and the Cinotécnico Operational Group of the Special Police Unit.
