The Educators Mobility Program (PME), which promotes the mobility of educators from 16 facilities/museums in the Algarve and educators from the Gulbenkian Education for Culture and Science Program (PGECC), is already in its second stage of training, announced the Board Regional Culture of the Algarve.

Thus, this 2nd moment of training began on 20 January, with training at the Museu de Loulé, followed by the Museu de Albufeira.

The initiative will extend until the end of February through the museums and facilities of the Algarve region, namely the Lagos Museum, Vila do Bispo Interpretation Center, Nª Sra de Guadalupe Chapel, Carrapateira Museum of the Sea and Land, Service of Historical Cultural Heritage, Archeology and Museology of the Chamber of Alcoutim, Municipality of Castro Marim, Museum of Faro, São Brás de Alportel Costume Museum, Tavira Museum, Cacela Heritage Research and Information Center, Portimão Museum, São Brás de Alportel Explanatory and Welcome Center, Silves Museum and Olhão Museum.

The Educators Mobility Program (PME) aims to consolidate and disseminate good cultural mediation practices, recognizing that the sharing of information, knowhow and resources will contribute to enriching the dissemination and knowledge of museums' heritage through the training and qualification of their teams.

This program is promoted through a partnership between the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation/PGECC, Algarvian Municipalities and the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of São Brás de Alportel/Museu do Trajo.

It intends that professionals/educators in the Algarve region have access to a quality training program, adapted to their specific needs, through observation of the program's educational activities. Discover from the Gulbenkian Foundation, which allows them to creatively design a new educational activity through training in their workplace and performance.

This training is led by educators from the Discover with a vast educational experience.

On the other hand, the trainers/educators of the Discover they will be able to receive external contributions, which allows them to take a fresh look at the improvement of their educational proposals, comparing them with those of other museums, in order to broaden their repertoire of strategies and reassess their educational projects according to knowledge of other realities and constraints that they do not usually face.

The PME is implemented through a training plan with two distinct moments: a 1st training moment, which took place from October to December 2013, in which the professionals of the Algarve's museums were able to directly observe the educational activities of the Discover at the Foundation, and a 2nd stage of training, which began now and includes the Foundation's educator coming to each of the partner institutions/museums to monitor and implement the educational project.
