The «Algarve Encanta» roadshow ended yesterday in Spain, after three intense days of workshops with around 380 Spanish travel agents and tour operators.

The promotional action thus ends up with a «very positive» balance due to the forecast of new business opportunities and the established contacts, reveals the president of the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), Desidério Silva.

In total, 26 Algarve companies – representing more than 60 hotel units in the region – traveled to Seville, Granada and Madrid in order to increase the Algarve's notoriety in Spain, expand the knowledge that Spanish travel agents and tour operators have of the destination and provide new business opportunities for participating companies.

«The balance of the Algarve professionals present was quite positive and the participation of agents and operators from the visited communities was high», says Desidério Silva, for whom this initiative should result «in an increase in sales in the Spanish market, contributing to attract more tourists, more overnight stays and more direct and indirect revenue for the regional economy and job creation», he concludes.

The roadshow «Algarve Encanta», which took place between the 28th and 30th of this month, was aimed at professionals in the sector and bet, in each city, on a workshop that brought together the Algarve's tourism offer in a privileged space for business.

The model will be replicated in November, taking the name from the Algarve to A Coruña, Vigo and, this time, also to Porto and Aveiro.
