The PS/Faro he accused the Polis Ria Formosa Society of “abusive use of public financial resources by a State body in an action of pure electoral campaign in favor of the candidate supported by the Government parties to the Municipal Chamber of Faro». At issue is the distribution of the latest Polis Ria Formosa newsletter, currently in progress.

«Sociedade Polis is currently sending 55 thousand color magazines to the mailboxes of Farenses, promising future investments and even talking about a work – Parque Ribeirinho de Faro – which has been at a standstill for two months, in what we consider an illegitimate way of using taxpayers' money and an abusive interference by that public body in the ongoing electoral dispute», accuse the socialists, in a press release.

The PS/Faro stressed that the adhesion of Faro to Polis Ria Formosa and the program of investments that would come to be made in the council, for a total value of 30 million euros, «was defined in 2009, during the previous mandate of the Socialist Party in the Municipality of Faro».

“It is a real scandal that four years later what the Polis Society has to show the Farenses is just more promises, public discussions and future intentions. A scandal further aggravated by the money in hand already spent by this society on salaries, studies and marketing among friends», state the Farense socialists.

«For the PS Faro this attitude reveals the despair that is rife in the coalition of government parties in Faro and simultaneously demonstrates that for the PSD / CDS candidate for the City Council of Faro all means justify the ends, not refraining from allowing the use of public money for the benefit of their party campaign», concluded the PS/Faro.
