World Environment Day will be celebrated tomorrow in Loulé with several activities, very focused on the school public, which will take place in the Municipal Park, namely in the Loulé Environmental Center and adjacent area throughout the day.
During the morning, in partnership with Associação Humana Portugal, the entity responsible for the placement and management of containers for the collection of clothes and shoes in the Municipality, “an awareness-raising action will take place which will consist of painting/decorating a set of six of these containers, as a way to make them more appealing and make the population more aware of their use», according to the City Council of Loulé. A Visual Arts class from Loulé Secondary School will collaborate in this activity, which is an Eco School.
At 10:45 am, the Loulé municipality will show what it has been doing in the last three years, as well as raise awareness of issues related to cleaning and promote educational habits in CEF students, with the screening of the film «Mancha Branca».
The Municipality will also promote the holding of three thematic workshops, from 10 am to 12 pm, on the themes "Renewable Energies", "Biodiversity" and "Oceans". In each of the workshops, experiments will be carried out that will allow students to have practical cases, such as taking care of the environment and helping to save the planet. Each workshop will last 30 minutes and is intended for groups of around 25 children.
At the same time, 300 pre-school students from the Padre Cabanita Schools Group will present a show on Sustainable Development and Biodiversity, as part of the closing of the Escola Ativa Project. In the plays to be presented between 9:20 am and 12:30 pm, «the concepts of waste management, renewable energies, biodiversity and food chains are used».
«Throughout the morning, the Loulé Health Center will also participate in the activities, with a stand where it will promote activities and raise awareness of issues related to health, including hygiene, oral health, vaccination, among others. The National Republican Guard will also be associated with this program, with two horses for the children to ride, stimulating human sensory issues», revealed the Loulé municipality.
The realization of a Reuse and Eco-Art workshop with Associação UNIR, between 10 am and 12 pm and the placement of an inflatable near the Environmental Center for children, are other activities planned. «Finally, on this day, the Municipality of Loulé will launch a Newsletter whose theme is the ephemeris in question, as well as the Mancha Branca project», announced the Chamber.
In addition to these activities, it will also be possible to enjoy the exhibition «The Environment at my School», open until Friday at the Environmental Center of Loulé. An exhibition «open to the general population, with the objective of making known and publicizing the work that educational establishments have been developing in the context of education and environmental awareness of their students».
