The Municipality of Vila do Bispo ceded the Salema Basic Education School to the Church Factory in the Parish of Budens. The transfer is conditional on the permanent closing of the said School, leaving the space free and unoccupied.
According to the protocol signed yesterday between the Mayor Adelino Soares and the Bishop of the Algarve, D. Manuel Neto Quintas, the facilities are intended exclusively for the installation of the Catholic Church's Center of Worship in Salema, the building being assigned to the provision of purposes. religious, namely worship, evangelization and social and charitable action involving the local population.
According to the protocol, the Municipality of Vila do Bispo assigns, free of charge and for a period of 25 years, the urban property corresponding to the Salema Basic Education School, renewable for equal periods. The property is assigned on an exclusive basis and without the possibility of being transferred to third parties.
D. Manuel Neto Quintas took the opportunity to thank the local authority for ceding the space and that both the Diocese of Algarve and the Parish of Budens are very much recognized for the act that thus fulfills the desires of the population of Salema to have a space for the purposes that are defined in the protocol.
