Microsoft Portugal announces that Arqueonautas, an underwater archeology company founded in Portugal and with worldwide operations, has recently implemented Office 365, Microsoft's integrated productivity, communication and collaboration solutions service, with a view to increasing access and sharing information between employees, investors and partners, and simultaneously optimizing operations at a global level.

The growing need for information sharing both internally and externally, permanent access to email, particularly in geographies with weak communications infrastructure, derived from the presence of archaenauts worldwide, as well as the need to implement a flexible and scalable solution, without the need to invest in hardware, were the determining factors in choosing Office 365 as a solution to implement.

The implementation and adaptation of the solution to Arqueonautas' needs was carried out by Microsoft and by the consultant Joana Villas-Boas, its partner, in order to ensure the rapid implementation of the Office 365 solution and the successful parameterization of the entire process.

In this context, and in just 48 hours, Arqueonautas saw the Office 365 solution implemented, a moment from which all employees could immediately access their email accounts from anywhere in the world and benefit from the configuration with all the devices and tools they work with on a daily basis.

In addition to the easy access and quick sharing of information, namely contacts, databases and agendas between the various employees, which has proven to be an asset for the profitability and efficiency of operations, Arqueonautas also started to benefit from a service housed in cloud, with high levels of security and reliability. The use of SharePoint, in a second phase, was another of the benefits highlighted, as it allowed the safe, complete and real-time sharing of information between the various interlocutors, from any device and without any geographical or temporal limitation.
