Olhanense guaranteed this Sunday the maintenance in the I League after drawing at home with Marítimo in the last and decisive round of the championship. The team from Olhão benefited from the defeat of Moreirense at Estádio da Luz by 3-1, but was 80 minutes in a relegation place, given the performance of Moreira de Cónegos' team in Lisbon.

Beira-Mar also lost, with Sporting, and was in the last place of the league table. Olhanense was 14th, with the same points as Gil Vicente, who lost at home to Estoril. Still, just one more than Moreirense.

In Olhão, the game had few opportunities from both sides and the final result is justified.

There were no goals, but there was a party, and a lot, with the fans invading the playing field after the end of the match to celebrate with the players and technical team the maintenance in the I League.

The 2012/13 I League championship was very disputed both at the end of the table and at the top. Porto became champion at the same time that Olhanense avoided relegation, just one point behind second-placed Benfica.

The European places were guaranteed by Paços de Ferreira (Champions League), Braga, Estoril and Vitória de Guimarães, via the Portugal Cup (Europe League). Sporting, it was already known, was left out of European competitions and even if it is confirmed that Guimarães is unable to participate in UEFA competitions, due to the rules of the financial Fair Play, it will take place, as Rio Ave secured sixth place.
