A 79-year-old man was arrested by the Southern Directorate of the Judiciary Police for the alleged commission of a crime of attempted murder, which occurred in Rio de Moinhos (Aljustrel), on May 8, the PJ announced today.
The Judiciary says, in a statement, that the defendant, armed with a shotgun, shot another 49-year-old man, hitting him in the chest area.
For several years, defendant and victim had been “disavoring”, and the shotgun shooting culminated yet another disagreement that had started the day before, with “mutual aggressions”, added the PJ.
The 79-year-old detainee will be brought before the competent judicial authorities to apply the coercive measures deemed appropriate.
