The Folar Fair (Silves) between March 29th and 31st, in what is already its 15th edition. The event is promoted by the Municipality of Silves, with the support of the local Parish Council, Serrano Futebol Clube and the Humanitarian Association of S. Marcos.
In this initiative, where the traditional folar is king, approximately two dozen exhibitors will be present and, with them, the traditional products of the region such as jam, honey, arbutus and fig brandies, olive oil, dried fruits, teas and medicinal plants or handcrafted products including basketwork, lace and brass, wood and cane utensils.
In terms of gastronomy, some taverns with the aromas and traditional flavors of the region will also be present at this fair.
Aiming to promote traditional music and dances, the event also features the performance of the Children's Folklore Ranch of SB Messines and Percutunes on March 29, the fado singer Maria da Saudade and “The Real Band” on the day 30 and from the Coral Alentejano Group of the Communities of Tunis Association and Rancho Folclórica de Algoz on March 31st.
The XV Folar Fair opens every day at 11 am and closes at 00 pm.
