The law that sets the territorial limits between the municipalities of Loulé and Faro, putting an end to a long and slow process, was published in Diário da República this Wednesday, December 5th.

Loulé and Faro lived about 200 years ago with its undefined territorial limits, which has caused numerous difficulties for the approximately 850 people who live there in the affected area, namely in terms of registration of rural and urban properties with the Conservatória e Finanças, electoral registration, licensing of building works, shares and inheritances, complications in postal distribution, among other matters.

After a long work of more than two years, which began with the constitution of a Technical Committee which studied all the available documentation, the report produced was presented to all the bodies of the parishes and municipalities that analyzed it and gave their opinion, mostly in favour. The population also had the opportunity to be heard and to present their suggestions.

After approval by the Assembly of the Republic, with this publication in the Diário da República, the territorial limits established between the parishes of Almancil, in the municipality of Loulé, and Montenegro, São Pedro and Santa Bárbara de Nexe, in the municipality of Faro.
