Filipe da Silva will head the list B candidate for the direction of the Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUAlg), in the elections for the governing bodies of this entity that will take place on December 4th.
With the motto «Close to all Students of the University of Algarve!», the list headed by the student of the Business Management course at the Faculty of Economics at UAlg emphasizes supporting students with financial difficulties.
"This candidacy assumes as its main priority the support to students who are experiencing difficulties to continue their training in Higher Education, being prepared to "go as far as it takes" to ensure that no one "is left out" due to their socioeconomic condition", according to a communiqué from the list, sent this week to newsrooms.
«Still in the matter of Social Action, they will defend a constant improvement of the Social Action Services (University Residences, University Canteens, medical support, among others) in order to fully serve the needs of the students of the University of Algarve at a time of great difficulties for their families», added Filipe da Silva's candidacy.
Another priority on Filipe da Silva's list is the «resolution of the financial situation that AAUALG is going through». «This resolution involves knowing the real state of the Academic Association's structure, optimizing existing resources and, above all, involving all students of the University of Algarve in the discussion and decision on the measures to be taken», defended the Algarve university students.
Stressing that they want to involve "all students" to promote "interaction between all members of the Academy, taking advantage of the training obtained in the most diverse areas of knowledge for the benefit of all UALG students".
Other areas of intervention of this team will be employability, mobility, pedagogical problems, Academic Tradition and access to culture and sport for students at the University of Algarve.
The election at the beginning of next month will put face to face the lists headed by two candidates who even have a curious coincidence of names: Filipe da Silva and Filipa Braz da Silva. The electoral campaign will start next Monday.
