The Secretariat of Youth Ministry of the Diocese of Algarve promotes, this Saturday, October 27th, the IX Diocesan Youth Festival of Religious Song.

This event, which will take place at 21 pm, at the Cineteatro de Tavira, has the support of the City Council of that city and will bring together eight original songs from the parishes of Guia, Luz de Tavira, Matriz de Portimão, Moncarapacho, Quarteira, Quelfes, Sagres and See of Faro.

The initiative –, which aims to “energize the pastoral care of young people; to encourage poetic-musical creation based on the values ​​of citizenship and human-Christian; promote the message song as a form of musical and evangelizing language; and enable communication, interaction between young people from each parish, groups of young people, movements in the diocese” –, according to the regulation, the participation of young people aged between 15 and 30 years, may apply for individual interpreters or groups up to seven elements.

The lyrics of the original songs should be inspired by the biblical passages “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil 4,4) and “Go and make disciples of all peoples” (Mt 28,19). The winner of the festival will represent the Algarve at the National Youth Festival of Religious Song which will take place on December 1st, in Fátima.
