«Fragile – water, people and the environment, a balance to be preserved» and «Water – a thousand images, a region, a future» are the two themes of the Photo and Video Contest «Water through my eyes», promoted by company Águas do Algarve, and whose deadline for submission of works is the 29th of June.
This photo and video competition has 1.900 euros in prizes.
Águas do Algarve emphasizes that the themes “complement each other”. Thus, in the first theme, "Fragile - water, people and the environment, a balance to be preserved", the focus is to raise awareness of the fragility of this essential element to life, as well as the need to preserve this, equally fragile, balance between water, people and the environment.
In the second theme, “Water – a thousand images, a region, a future”, the emphasis is on the importance of water in the region and its role in a socially and environmentally sustainable future.
The contest aims to encourage the environmental values and protection of natural resources, of all individuals, through the exploration of their artistic skills related to image, exploring their creative potential through the audiovisual world.~
Through the image, thoughts, actions and behaviors for environmental preservation and protection will be expressed.
The company Águas do Algarve states that it also intends that this competition “make a significant contribution to the construction of a more sustainable and environmentally responsible society”.
The members of the Jury may, by deliberation taken by the majority of its members, attribute Honorable Mentions to works whose quality justifies it.
