Portugal is, for the second consecutive year, host of the European Track Championship for Under-23 and Juniors. The National Velodrome, in Sangalhos, one of the most modern cycling infrastructures in the world, will be the epicenter of all the action, between 3 and 8 July.

About 350 runners are expected representing more than 30 nations. Similar to what happened in 2011, the sporting spectacle provided by the corridors will also be an important socio-economic event for the Bairradina region, taking into account the animation that this initiative offers to regional restaurants, commerce and hotels.

The National Team/Liberty Seguros will once again be present at a European Championship, with national coach Gabriel Mendes at the stage of choosing Portuguese representatives, a group that will be based on cyclists who are part of the National Track School, residing at the Velodrome and High Performance Center headquartered in Sangalhos.

During the European Championship, entry to the National Velodrome will be free for young people up to 15 years old. Tickets for the general public will cost 5 euros, with a pass for the six days of competition available for 25 euros. UVP-FPC members pay just €2,5 per day.

The budget for the European Championship amounts to 210 thousand euros.
