A guitar concert with Josué Nunes will take place on Saturday, at 18 pm, at the Ermida de São Sebastião, as part of the “Música nas Igrejas” project.

The musical program includes pieces by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Isaac Albéniz, Fernando Sor, Stalnley Mayers, João Teixeira Guimarães and Roland Dyens.

Born in Tavira (1974), Josué Nunes conducted his first musical studies at the Regional Conservatory of the Algarve Maria Campina and completed a degree in guitar at the Lisbon Superior School of Music, under the supervision of Piñero Nagy.

He is currently attending a master's degree at the Piaget Institute in Almada. He participated in several master-classes (improvement courses) and performed solo and in various chamber music formations across the country.

In 2002, he founded the Academy of Music in Tavira, where he serves as chairman of the Board. Organized the 1st Classical Music Festival of Tavira and coordinates the project “Música nas Igrejas”. He is also director of the Algarve International Guitar Festival.

Between 1999 and 2001 he taught guitar at the Conservatório Regional de Tavira, and today he teaches at the Academia de Música de Tavira.
