A member of the yacht “Enna”, a 74-year-old German, was evacuated this Tuesday for medical reasons by an Air Force EH-101 helicopter, about 100 nautical miles southwest of Cape São Vicente.
At 12:00 pm yesterday, the Navy, through the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center, received a telephone communication from the German counterpart in Bremen, reporting the need to proceed with the medical evacuation of the man who was aboard the yacht. The Air Force EH-101 helicopter, which took off from Montijo at 13:54 pm and arrived at the site at 15:17 pm, evacuated the crew member in a stable situation to the airport of Faro, from where he went in an INEM ambulance to the Central Hospital of Faro.
