The Left Block questioned the Minister of the Sea Assunção Cristas on whether the reason for the construction of the fishing port of Tavira has not yet started has to do with “the lack of a signature, especially when an international public tender has already been held and the work has already been awarded”.

“Depriving the fishing community of Tavira for purely bureaucratic reasons is not justified, especially when the process has already gone beyond all legal formalities, involving various entities and Ministries”, state the blocistas.

«The fishing port of Tavira is a key element in the development of the city, as it would bring relevant improvements in the working conditions of the local fishing sector as well as in the city's urban planning, since, when removing the vessels, currently parked in a chaotic way in the riverside area, would make it possible to move forward with the urbanization plan for that area, which has long been foreseen in the PDM», considers the Block.
