the airport of Faro it closed the terminal at 12:00 pm and changed the check-in and security procedures area to a temporary structure set up in car park P6 for “to safeguard the safety of passengers and employees working there”, due to bad weather forecasts .

ANA Aeroportos announced, in a statement, that these measures were taken after «the safety conditions of the Airport of Faro given the weather forecasts for today in this city, wind gusts in the order of 65 km to 100 km per hour are expected».

Passenger processing will thus be carried out from the Airport's P6 car park, where a temporary reception structure is set up.

Passengers will then be transported to the Bus Terminal Pier, where segregation, passenger check-in and security procedures will be carried out.

ANA adds that the evacuation of the Terminal will take place between 11:30 am and 13:30 pm, when there is a decrease in traffic.

Processing, check-in and security and border control will be done at the Pier in designated rooms.

The airport has planned 122 movements and by 11:00 am, 28 departures have already taken place. 12 movements will be processed per hour (6 departures + 6 arrivals).

Double the time in the processing of passengers and delays in both departures and arrivals is expected, for which ANA Aeroportos de Portugal «regrets the inconvenience caused».
