Ribeira de Aljezur will have a pedestrian bridge

Work will cost around 196 euros

The Municipality of Aljezur will proceed with the construction of a pedestrian pier on the Aljezur stream. The act of consignment of the work, which will cost around 196 euros, was signed last May 19th.

As the municipality of Aljezur explains, “over several years the Municipality of Aljezur has been alerting the Infrastructures of Portugal, an entity with responsibility for the matter, of the importance of a solution to security issues for those crossing the Aljezur Bridge, since until now pedestrians who make this crossing have some risk associated with very narrow sidewalks, which do not guarantee their safety».

After several meetings with the Infrastructures of Portugal, the City Council of Aljezur took over the execution of this important work, «which will allow the removal of pedestrian sidewalks inside the bridge, improving car circulation and thus guaranteeing more and better safety for all. the same in the rehabilitation interventions of the Aljezur riverfront».

The City Council explains that the work «will have a part of civil construction, which requires the construction of two foundations on the banks of the river, where the walkway will be placed, which will have a span of about 40 meters, built in metal and with a floor of material recycled. This will be built in the factory and placed on site'.

The work was awarded to the company Correta – Construções, Lda., from Aveiro and has a construction period of 120 days.

This jetty, «will allow more comfort and more safety, for pedestrians and motorists» and «completes the investment in this area of ​​the riverside park, which underwent works, recently completed», concludes the City Council of Aljezur.
