This Saturday, May 11th, Portimonense wasted a chance to get out of the relegation play-off. The Algarve drew 2-2, nakedA game from the 33rd and penultimate round of the I Portuguese Football League, played in Portimão.
Hélio Varela equalized for Portimonense, in the 90th + 7th minute, after the Vila Condenses had twice taken the lead, with goals from Amine, in the 21st minute, and Pantalon, in the 83rd minute, after Carlinhos had equalized for the Algarve, at 63.
With this draw, Portimonense, which ends the championship at home to rival Farense, remains in 16th and third-to-last place, competing in the play-off with the third-placed team in the II League, with 29 points, one behind Estrela.
The Amadora team lost today in Vizela (4-0) and receives Gil Vicente in the last round, who, like Estoril Praia, had their stay assured today, with an advantage in the direct confrontation with the Algarve (3-0 and 1- 1).
