It was with a goal in stoppage time, at 90+1, scored by the Brazilian Igor Formiga, that Portimonense achieved a precious victory this Sunday, against Chaves, at the home of the Trás-os-Montes club, in a match on the 28th round of the I Liga de soccer.

Flavienses and Algarvians desperately needed to score to gain momentum in the fight for permanence, but it ended up being Paulo Sérgio's men who managed to win, 2-3.

Igor Formiga's goal was somewhat spectacular: the Algarve's right-back shot from the middle of the street, making the ball hit the post, with Flavienses' goalkeeper Rodrigo Moura launching himself, but without being able to stop the shot. The move was still analyzed by VAR, which confirmed the goal.

The first to score were those from Chaves, in the 25th minute, through Héctor Hernández, through a penalty. O penalty followed by a foul by Alemão on Guzzo inside the area.

In the second half, in the 75th minute, Portimonense reached a XNUMX-XNUMX draw, with a goal from Carlinhos, assisted by Igor Formiga.

But the Algarve's joy was short-lived: in the next minute, GD Chaves took the lead again, with a goal from João Correia.

Trailing 2-1, Portimonense managed to equalize again in the 83rd minute, with a goal from Midana Cassamá. Hélio crossed to the second post, Pedrão blocked it with a header and returned it to the first post, where Midana appeared, who scored with a header.

It was with this 2-2 draw that the end of regulation time came to an end, with the referee announcing a seven-minute compensation, which ended up being used by Portimonense to score their third goal, thus guaranteeing the final victory by 2-3. .

Portimonense, which had not won for eight games in the championship, now has 26 points and remains in 16th and second to last place, in terms of access to the play-off, while Desportivo de Chaves seems increasingly destined for relegation, remaining in last place, with 19 points, having only achieved one triumph in the last 16 matches in the competition.
