Portugal's best young basketball players celebrate again in Albufeira

Youth Basketball Festival lasts until April 7th

The Youth Basketball Festival is back in Albufeira and will give the opportunity to a thousand young basketball players from across the country to compete against each other, until Sunday, the 7th.

The event began yesterday, the 3rd, with the traditional parade, where delegations from different districts of the country participated.

In total, more than 1000 athletes, 72 national teams, 144 coaches, 150 referees and table officials, 15 physiotherapists, 15 national selectors, 90 managers, athletes' companions, among other professionals will be present.

This year, Tomás Barroso, a former Portuguese international from Albufeira, is the godfather of the 16th edition of the Youth Basketball Festival.

The competition puts district teams on the field at under-14 and under-16, female and male levels, and is organized by the Portuguese Basketball Federation which has the support of the Municipality of Albufeira, the Algarve Basketball Association and the collaboration of the two local clubs. : Imortal BasKet Club and CBA – Albufeira Basketball Club.

The games will be played at the Albufeira Sports Pavilion; Olhos de Água Sports Pavilion; Albufeira Secondary School Sports Pavilion; EBSA Sports Pavilion – Albufeira Primary and Secondary School; EB 2/3 Francisco Cabrita Sports Pavilion; Francisco Neves Sports Pavilion and Guia Sports Pavilion.
