The Alcoutim Chamber approved this Wednesday, April 24th, a vote of condolence and a minute of silence for the death of José Rosa Pereira, former president of the Martim Longo Parish Council.
The former mayor passed away on April 22, at the age of 82.
In a press release, the Alcoutim executive says that «he praised the nature of the functions he performed as mayor, where he always committedly defended the public cause and the interests of the municipality, with special emphasis on those of the parish of Martim Longo, where he was president of Parish Council for several years».
He also praised «the ability demonstrated throughout his life in the area of entrepreneurship, since through his actions as a businessman he contributed to the local economic dynamics and, in this way, to the development of the territory».
