Women's handball team plays in Loulé looking to make history again

The women's handball team will face its counterpart from the Netherlands on April 4th, starting at 19pm, at the Pavilhão Municipal Professor Joaquim Vairinhos, in Loulé, in a game counting towards qualification for the European Championship. 

After two defeats at the start of qualifying, in October 2023, Portugal beat Finland in a double dose, in February this year, and, at this time, occupies second place in Group 3, behind the Netherlands – World Champion team in 2019 – and on equal terms with Czechia, who will be the last opponents in this qualification – on April 7th, in Plzeň.

The Women's EHF Euro 2024 will take place between November 28th and December 15th in a joint organization between Austria, Hungary and Switzerland, this being the first edition to host 24 nations. The top two teams from each of the eight Qualifier groups qualify, plus the four best third-placed teams, as well as the co-organizing teams and Norway, the reigning European champion.

The women's National Team, coached by José António Silva, seeks to repeat the unprecedented feat achieved in 2008, of guaranteeing qualification for a major international competition.

As they enter the decision-making phase, they are in a favorable position to make history again.

However, it is mandatory to collect tickets (maximum 4 per person) at the reception of the Pavilhão Municipal Professor Joaquim Vairinhos, from the 1st of April, from Monday to Friday (from 08:00 to 21:00) and Saturday (from 08:00 to 14:00). ).
