A 24-year-old young man was arrested yesterday, March 7, in Portimão, for committing crimes of domestic violence and offenses against qualified physical integrity and was placed in preventive detention.
According to the PSP, the young man “was previously indicted for crimes of this nature and was even subject to coercive measures”.
However, according to the police, the arrest is now due to the “gradual increase in the level of violence used in recent days” against several members of his closest family circle.
«As it proved to be essential for the protection of the victims and considering the urgency of intervention, a Warrant of Arrest was issued outside of a Flagrant Offense, to ensure their immediate appearance in Court», explains the PSP.
In view of the facts established, the coercive measure of preventive detention was ordered today.
