The President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa today expressed his “respect and admiration” for the work carried out by civil protection agents and called for “the development of an increasingly resilient society”.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa's message was left on the official website of the Presidency of the Republic, on the occasion of International Civil Protection Day.

In the same message, the head of state also highlights the importance of “developing an increasingly resilient, informed and prepared society to face the challenges associated with protecting life, property and the environment”.
