GNR seizes more than 3500 doses of drugs and 20 thousand euros last week in the Algarve

Last week, between the 18th and 24th of March, the GNR seized more than 3500 doses of drugs and 20 thousand euros in the Algarve. 

Data on operational activities to prevent and combat violent crime, road inspection, among others, were released this Monday, March 25th. 

According to the GNR, the seizure of 20 euros in cash, 994 doses of hashish, five doses of cocaine, thirteen cell phones, a vehicle, six bladed weapons and a shotgun.

Between March 18 and 24, 58 people were arrested: 15 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 15 for driving without a legal license and 11 for drug trafficking. 

In traffic, 463 infractions were also detected: 241 due to speeding, 54 due to lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 23 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, 21 due to lack of civil liability insurance, 11 due to improper use of a cell phone while driving and 11 due to lack of or incorrect use of a seat belt and/or child restraint system.

During this period, there were also 122 accidents, resulting in 21 minor injuries.
