Applications for the “Palco RUA – Música JA” band competition are open until next Monday, March 25th.
Each musical project must submit two original songs that must be written by the candidates, both in terms of lyrics and music, and cannot be subject to a record contract. The audio, sent in mp3 format, must not last longer than 10 minutes.
The band or project must have members between 14 and 35 years old and the application must have the following information: band or project details, band or project biography, a photograph of the band or project, audio files in mp3 format and the technical 'rider'.
For the knockout phase, eight projects or bands will be selected that will perform first in a show, on the Docas stage in the city of Faro, and then during the Algarve Academic Week.
The first three classified will also have the possibility of performing at Festival F, in Faro, at Fatacil, in Lagoa, and at Feira da Serra, in São Brás de Alportel, with monetary prizes between 1500 and 500 euros.
In the 2023 edition, the winners were Os Marafados and in second and third place were Marta Lima and Diogo Ribeiro, respectively.
