The Algarve Tourism Region (RTA) will participate, from the 15th to the 17th of March, in B-Travel, the largest fair aimed at the traveling public in the Spanish market, in Barcelona.

The stand, which will bring together Algarve Tourism and the municipalities of Albufeira, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Olhão, Portimão and Vila Real de Santo António, will occupy an area of 72 square meters. Daily, visitors will be able to enjoy gastronomic demonstrations, highlighting the richness of the Mediterranean Diet as an attraction.

André Gomes, president of Turismo do Algarve, expresses his confidence in the potential of the Spanish market, emphasizing that Spain is a crucial proximity market for the Algarve, with approximately 900 thousand annual overnight stays and considerable growth margin.

“The existence of air links between Faro and several Spanish cities, including Barcelona, served by Vueling and Ryanair, represents an excellent opportunity to strengthen the presence of this market in the regional hotel industry. Furthermore, joint participation with Algarve municipalities is an added value in promoting the destination in the autonomous community of Catalonia, which has 7,9 million inhabitants», concludes André Gomes.

B-Travel, organized by Fira de Barcelona, will bring together almost all Spanish Autonomous Communities.

The presence of South American and African destinations, with their own stands, joins other European international destinations and several regions of France and Portugal, including the Algarve, which makes its debut at this prestigious event.
