Portimonense was superior, but drew with Vitória de Guimarães

With this draw, Portimonense now has 22 points and is in 12th place

Portimonense drew 1-1 against Vitória Sport Clube, in a match on the 22nd round of the I Football League, played this Saturday, February 17th, in Portimão. The Algarve played better, but were unable to win.

In the first 20 minutes, it was Vitória who dominated. Portimonense started out somewhat apathetic and the visitors scored fairly, through André Silva.

From then on, it was Portimonense who took control of the game.

The Algarve team could have gone into the break with a draw, but Berto, in the 25th minute, with a dangerous header, and Carlinhos, in the 28th minute, with a good shot, were unable to beat Charles.

In the second half, Portimonense remained in control of the match, adding wasted opportunities. Relvas had two of the most striking ones, at 56' and 61', but the first was saved by Charles and the second had Tomás Ribeiro cutting the ball over the goal line.

Paulo Sérgio's team reached a deserved equalizer in the 79th minute. Hélio, one of Portimonense's best players, crossed wide and Guga, at the far post, headed the ball into the back of the net.

Until the end, the people of the Algarve still went through a chill.

In the penultimate minute, the referee awarded a penalty in favor of Vitória, due to Berto's foul, but, alerted by the VAR, reversed the decision, as the foul occurred outside the area.

With this draw, Portimonense now has 22 points and is in 12th place.
