Karlota causes trees to fall across the Algarve during the early hours of the morning

During the early hours of the morning, the Algarve was the region most affected by storm Karlota, but the situation this morning «is already calmer»

Storm Karlota caused 62 incidents in the Algarve, mostly tree falls, throughout the early hours of this Friday, February 9th. 

The incidents spread «a little throughout the Algarve», a source from the Algarve Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command told Sul Informação. 

Most of them were tree falls, although there were also small floods, which were immediately dealt with by operators.

During the early hours of the morning, the Algarve was the region most affected by storm Karlota, but the situation this morning «is already calmer».

Since 8 am, only three incidents have been recorded: two tree falls, in Portimão and Albufeira, and a flood of structures in Aljezur.

The Algarve remains under yellow warning due to the forecast of “sometimes heavy” rain. In addition to this, there is also a yellow warning due to wind, in force until 21 pm.
