Districts of Faro and Beja under orange warning due to sea unrest

Between 15pm and 00am on Tuesday

The districts of Faro and Beja will be under orange warning due to unrest at sea, between 15pm and 00am on Tuesday, February 06th. 

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), nine districts are under orange warning between today and Tuesday.

The orange warning, the second most serious on a scale of three, was activated in the districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Leiria and Braga at 00:49, in force until 00:00 on Tuesday. In Aveiro and Coimbra it lasts for another three hours, IPMA said in a statement.

In Lisbon, the warning is in effect between 06 am and the same time the following day.

During this period, the IPMA predicts “northwest waves with a significant height of five to six meters, reaching a maximum height of 11 meters”.
