Trapalhão Carnival returns to Ferreiras with “Domingão” by SIC

Entry is free

The Trapalhão de Ferreiras Carnival takes place on the 11th and 13th of February, with parades between 14pm and 00pm, on Avenida 17 de Julho.

One of the highlights takes place on the afternoon of the 11th, with the presence of “Domingão”, from SIC, which will be live.

The television program takes place on a traveling stage placed on a truck, which will accompany the entire parade. As usual, the program has the presence of presenters Luciana Abreu and Emanuel, who participate in the carnival parade with several direct channels for that television station. After parade time, the truck travels through the main streets of the parish.

On both afternoons, in addition to several floats and groups on foot, the event also includes traveling entertainment from Circo Dallas, a performance by Ban'Dalila, athletes from Futebol Clube de Ferreiras, Atlético Clube de Albufeira and CBTTAA – Clube by MTB Amigos de Albufeira.

On the 11th, highlights also include the artists from Associação Satori. On the 13th, it's the Al'fanfarre's turn to join the party.

Another new feature is the awarding of prizes for the best floats, a way of further promoting creativity and participation among revelers.

Throughout the parade, in addition to local businesses that will be open, there are kiosks with food and drinks. In some floats, offerings including sweets, steaks, water and other drinks are prepared.

According to the president of the Ferreiras Parish Council Jorge Carmo, «this investment aims to promote Ferreiras as an active parish, where we want the population that resides here to live and create their roots around local traditions, but also where those who visit us can feel welcome.”

The mayor invites «everyone who wants to have fun, to join us, as we want these afternoons to be lively and create good memories for whoever is with us».

To organize the event, with free entry, the Ferreiras Parish Council has the support of the Albufeira City Council and local businesses in the parish.
