The 21st edition of the Altura Carnival, in the municipality of Castro Marim, once again welcomed thousands of visitors on the 10th and 13th of February, «once again becoming an undeniable success».
The parade through the main arteries of Altura was attended by revelers from 10 entertainment groups and nine floats, «inspired by the theme “Circus and Fairs”, which spread a lot of color, creativity and joy», says Castro Marim City Council.
«The authenticity of this Carnival is expressed through hundreds of volunteers, revelers, associations and entities, this year having the largest number of participants ever, who worked for long weeks on building the floats and making thousands of paper flowers », he adds.
The Altura Carnival was attended by the group of Amigos do Bairro Quente, Altura em Forma, Grupo de Amigos de Altura, Clube Recreativo Alturense, dance group ARUTLA, Associação Amendoeiras em Flor, Casa do Povo do Azinhal, Associação Cegonha Branca , the Culture and Sports Center of Castro Marim City Council, Altura Parish Council and Castro Marim Parish Council.
The Altura Carnival is organized by the Parish Council and City Council of Castro Marim, the Parish Council of Altura, Azinhal and Odeleite, with the support of the Corvo supermarket and the collaboration of local associations and businesses.
